Drilling Logistics Coordinator

Job Description :

Offshore Logistics Planning & Coordination

Plan, coordinate, and monitor offshore logistics activities in accordance with drilling campaign requirements and operational schedules.

Develop and maintain logistics plans for personnel, materials, equipment, consumables, and back-loads.

Coordinate marine and aviation logistics, including vessel and helicopter schedules.

Ensure timely mobilization and demobilization of personnel, equipment, and materials.

Personnel & Material Movement

Coordinate the end-to-end movement of personnel, materials, equipment, tools, and cargo between shore bases, supply bases, ports, vessels, and offshore drilling units.

Prepare and monitor personnel manifests, cargo manifests, back-load documentation, and other logistics records.

Coordinate crew changes and personnel transfers in line with offshore operational requirements.

Monitor cargo readiness, transportation status, delivery schedules, and offshore receipt.

Marine & Aviation Coordination

Coordinate with supply bases, vessel operators, helicopter providers, offshore drilling units, and relevant contractors.

Monitor vessel and helicopter schedules and make necessary arrangements to avoid operational delays.

Coordinate changes to logistics schedules based on weather conditions, drilling activities, vessel availability, and offshore operational requirements.

Customs & Port Formalities

Coordinate customs clearance and related documentation for offshore materials and equipment.

Handle temporary import/re-export (TIR) procedures and ensure compliance with applicable Vietnamese customs regulations.

Coordinate port formalities, cargo documentation, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Liaise with customs authorities, port authorities, freight forwarders, and other relevant stakeholders when required.

Cargo, Dangerous Goods & Lifting Operations

Ensure materials and equipment are properly prepared, packed, documented, and transported in accordance with applicable requirements.

Coordinate the handling and transportation of dangerous goods in compliance with relevant regulations and company procedures.

Ensure lifting and cargo handling activities are properly planned and supported by appropriate documentation and certified personnel.

Coordinate with Rigging & Lifting personnel, Banksman/Slinger, supply base teams, and offshore teams.

HSE & Compliance

Ensure logistics activities comply with company HSE policies, offshore procedures, and applicable Vietnamese regulations.

Support safe transportation, handling, lifting, loading, unloading, and offshore transfer operations.

Identify potential logistics risks and coordinate appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

Ensure all required offshore personnel, equipment, cargo, and documentation meet applicable safety and compliance requirements.

Cost & Performance Monitoring

Monitor logistics activities, operational costs, vessel/helicopter utilization, and overall logistics performance.

Track logistics KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs.

Prepare daily, weekly, and campaign-related logistics reports.

Maintain accurate logistics records, documentation, and databases.

Stakeholder Coordination

Act as a key coordination point between the onshore logistics team, offshore drilling units, supply bases, marine/aviation contractors, customs, port authorities, freight forwarders, and other service providers.

Provide timely logistics updates and communicate operational changes to relevant stakeholders.

Support drilling, completion, and well testing teams with logistics planning and problem-solving throughout the campaign.

Job Requirements :

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Maritime, Marine Transportation, or a related discipline.

Additional professional qualifications in offshore logistics, marine operations, supply chain, or Oil & Gas logistics will be an advantage.

Professional Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore Oil & Gas logistics.

At least 3 years of experience supporting offshore drilling campaigns.

Proven experience participating in at least 2 offshore drilling campaigns in Vietnam.

Hands-on experience with customs procedures, temporary import and re-export (TIR) for offshore equipment and materials.

Experience with jack-up drilling operations is mandatory.

Experience coordinating logistics for drilling, completion, well intervention, or well testing campaigns is highly preferred.

Experience working with offshore drilling contractors, supply bases, marine contractors, aviation providers, and logistics service providers is an advantage.
