GPO Rigger – Offshore Malaysia

Job Description :

1. KEY OBJECTIVES
1.1. To carry out all work, in areas of competence, in a safe and efficient manner in
accordance with
the Facility Management System.
1.2. To assist in the loading and discharge of supply vessels and the operation,
deployment and recovery of work boat and FRC (fast rescue craft).
1.3. To operate, where qualified, cranes and lifting appliances onboard the facility and to ensure operation within its safe working limits and in accordance with the Facility Management System.
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
2.1. Maintain an efficient fire or deck watch as required.
2.2. Ensure all decks and store rooms are maintained in a safe and secure condition at all times.
2.3. Ensure the cleanliness of all accommodation and work areas and that all work is performed and all equipment operated in a safe and efficient manner.
2.4. Assist in the maintenance of lifting appliances, cranes, running gear, slings,
shackles etc.
2.5. Ensure that all tank work is carried out in a safe and professional manner.
2.6. Assist in the mooring and unmooring of offtake tankers.
2.7. Carry out maintenance tasks, as directed by Crane Operator, in all areas including:
Corrosion control including needle gunning, sand and water blasting, spray
painting etc
.
Tank operations including tank entry, cleaning, removal of scale, valves,
pipework etc
.
Pumproom work including removal/installation of valves, blanks, pumps
repairs
, overhauls.

Engine Room duties including watchkeeping, repairs and maintenance as required • Process Plant including assisting with repairs and maintenance as required.

2.8. Attend and assist in helicopter landing, takeoffs and refuelling operations as required.

2.9. To carry out all workboat, mooring operations and other tasks associated with offtake tanker operations including floating hose assembly, disassembly and testing

2.10. Erect and dismantle scaffolding as required, if qualified to do so.

2.11. To operate the cranes as required, if qualified to do so.

3. HSE RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in emergency response.

Ensure that waste materials do not escape into the marine environment.

4. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Liaises with Crane Operator on day to day operations.

Job Requirements :

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Experience of tanker operations, small boat handling and experience as operator in an offshore environment preferred.

2. AB Greaser preferably with Crane Operators Certificate. Other relevant trade qualification preferred.

3. Able to communicate in English and culturally aware with experience of working with multicultural workforce preferred.
