Review and approve, on behalf of the Company, Contractor engineering deliverables related to electrical system design, analysis, calculations, and requirements for materials, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Oversee and manage Contractor electrical engineering activities, including manpower allocation, cost control, and progress tracking.
Review electrical requirements for equipment and packaged equipment procurement activities.
Provide electrical discipline input to HAZOP, SIL, SIMOPS, and other safety-related studies and analyses.
Support technical bid evaluations for vendor proposals and review Contractor-prepared RFQs, technical clarifications, bid evaluation reports, and recommendations.
Monitor Contractor management of vendors and material deliveries to ensure compliance with project requirements and schedules.
Review and approve electrical vendor technical documentation throughout project execution.
Attend vendor inspections, integration tests, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT) on behalf of the Company.
Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases.
Participate as a member of both onshore and offshore commissioning teams for the electrical discipline.
Develop and/or review procedures and specifications related to pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and operation of electrical systems.
Monitor offshore installation activities, testing, commissioning, and system handover to operations.
Coordinate closely with T&I Managers, inspectors, surveyors, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Provide operational and technical support during facility handover from Contractor to Operations.
Verify as-built documentation and final project records related to electrical systems.
Interface with regulatory and certification bodies to ensure compliance with Vietnamese offshore facility regulations and industry standards.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Electrical Engineers.
Undertake business travel and offshore assignments as required by the project.
Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by Project Management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
Experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly in offshore field development projects.
Proven experience managing and overseeing Contractor and Company engineering activities during project execution.
Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams and implementing integrated design solutions.
Experience participating in safety reviews, technical studies, and implementation of recommendations.
Experience defining scopes of work for engineering, installation, and commissioning phases.
Experience supporting fabrication, pre-commissioning, commissioning, offshore hook-up, and start-up activities.
Strong knowledge of international and industry standards, including ASME, ASTM, API, BS, DNV, IEC, NEC, ANSI, and related codes.
