Job Description :

1. KEY OBJECTIVES
The Medic/ Radio Operator has a responsible to the FPSO Master for providing primary medical care for all personnel on the FPSO. The position provides a key support role in connection with the day-today operations of the Facility.

2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
2.1 Provide primary health care and services of a high standard within the framework of a multi disciplined offshore workforce. Provide initial assessment, diagnosis, care and stabilization of cases of injury or acute illness.
2.2 Participate in First Aid and primary medical care training both internal /external. Conduct hands-on medical team support training for members of the Emergency Response team.
2.3 Ensure that a high standard of health and hygiene awareness is achieved on the FSO/FPSO. The promotion of initiatives to achieve this objective, presentation to the workforce and health & hygiene topics.
2.4 Direct interface with the FPSO Master on all matters relating the medical health issues Offshore whilst maintaining a functional interface with the onshore medical advisor provided by SOS.
2.5 Coordinates all communication activities with Helicopter’s in flight within the field, during any Emergency Response or at any other time it is necessary for communications as directed.
2.6 Manage the POB and accommodation of personnel aboard the facility,
2.7 This list of duties is not intended to be exhaustive but highlights a number of the major tasks of the post.  Incumbents may be required to undertake additional duties, which form part of the function of the post. Incumbents will do so in compliance with the requirements of the Company’s safety regulations and operating procedures and always act with due care and diligence.
3. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 General administration, compile weekly and monthly medical reports. Maintain confidential records of the medical history of all company and other contract personnel working at the onshore facilities.
3.2 Participate in weekly hygiene inspections of the platform living quarters, galley, food and provision storage areas.
3.3 Maintain and update the inventory of medical – equipment and medicines to a level that satisfies Client requirements. This includes preparing an end of swing Stock take for the FPSO Master of all drugs and medical inventory held on the facility no later than one a day prior to changing out.
3.4 Ensure that the sickbay and associated medical equipment and aids are maintained in an effective hygienic state of readiness at all times.
3.5 Taking daily food samples as regulation and monitoring.
3.6 Update the POB listing of personnel aboard post any crew change of personnel.
3.7 Updating lifeboat stations bills on daily basis whenever there is any change in POB
3.8 Weekly inspection of eyewash station and renew eyewash station water on monthly basis
3.9 Liaise with FPSO Master and Field Supt for all flight bookings
3.10 Operate and test GMDSS equipment
4. HSE ROLES
4.1 Beware of and uphold company policy regarding “Health, Safety and Environment” and “Environmental Protection Policy”.
4.2 Being responsible for their own safety and health, and that of others in the workplace, and for understanding their contribution towards the safety of themselves and others.
4.3 Immediately reporting to management all incidents, accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions or practices that may occur in the workplace.
4.4 Using all personal and other protective equipment provided where appropriate.
4.5 Take part in all drills and exercises and in the event of any actual emergency fulfill the duties assigned as per the emergency response plan. Incharge of medical team during emergency/drills
5.  WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
5.1 Liaise with HSEQ Department on Medical treatment cases.

5.2 The Medic/ Radio Operator reports to the FPSO Master.

Job Requirements :

1. Mandatory
– Recognized Certificate as a Paramedic as a minimum.
– Minimum of 4 years’ experience working as an Operating Paramedic or Medical Practitioner.
– Previous experience with an offshore environment will be an advantage.
– Experience working as a Radio Operator and an administrative assistant will be an advantage.
– GMDSS Operators certificate
–  Oil tanker familiarization certificate
– Advanced training programmer on oil tanker operation
– Advanced fire fighting
– Personnel survival techniques, Fire prevention and fire fighting, Elementary first aid, Personnel safety and social responsibilities
– Offshore Fire Fighting and Helicopter Survival certification
– Offshore Medical Certification.
2. Desirable
–  Strong personal and interpersonal skills with flexibility to meet fluctuating needs of field operations.
– Favorable English skill both written and spoken especially on radio communication with helicopter pilot.
