The Tax Consultant will support Tax Advisors in ensuring tax compliance, reporting, and tax optimization activities for the company’s operations in Vietnam.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day tax compliance activities in accordance with Vietnamese tax regulations.
Prepare and submit tax declarations and filings, including:
Value Added Tax (VAT) and VAT refund applications (if applicable).
Personal Income Tax (PIT).
Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT).
Corporate Income Tax (CIT).
Royalties and environmental fees.
Verify and reconcile input and output VAT against accounting records and supporting tax documents.
Monitor VAT invoice usage and prepare invoice adjustment documentation when required.
Review contracts, payments, and invoices involving overseas contractors to ensure accurate withholding tax calculations.
Support Tax Advisors during tax audits, inspections, and inquiries from tax authorities.
Prepare regular and ad-hoc tax reports as required.
Identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency and compliance processes.
Collaborate closely with Finance, Procurement, Commercial, HR, Legal, and other internal stakeholders on tax-related matters.
Maintain effective communication with local tax authorities, joint venture partners, and external stakeholders.
Perform other tax-related duties assigned by Tax Advisors.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional Experience
Minimum 3–4 years of experience in taxation, preferably within:
Oil & Gas industry;
Big Four accounting firms;
Large multinational or multi-business environments.
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
Strong knowledge of Vietnamese tax regulations and tax compliance requirements.
Solid understanding of corporate taxation, VAT, withholding taxes, and tax reporting.
Experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns and supporting documentation.
Ability to support tax audits and liaise with tax authorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and compliance awareness.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Language Requirements:
Fluent in both English and Vietnamese (written and spoken).
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems is an advantage.

Low travel requirement.
